If you want to use bblcone as a "Stand Alone" read on to get the knowledge how to install it.
There are only a few steps, so you should be done in a few minutes.
The installation procedure works for Joomla 1.0x an 1.5x.
So now let's go:
- Download bbclone and ip2ext from the bbclone website
Unzip the bbclone archive. You will see a bbclone folder and some sub-folders. - Unzip the content of the ip2ext.zip to this bbclone folder
- Open the config.php from the bbclone/conf folder in your editor
Change the $BBC_MAINSITE variable to your your Joomla site:
$BBC_MAINSITE = "http://www.mysite.com" - Upload the whole bbclone folder to a folder inside your Joomla installation.
- CHMOD all files except the .htaccess in the bbclon/var folder to 666
- Download the index.php from your Joomla root folder and backup it (just for the ase something will went wrong)
- Open the index.php in your editor and add the following code at the end of this file (after the last entry!"):
?> - Make sure, that the define("_BBCLONE_DIR", "/var/www/html/bbclone/"); entry points to your bbclone folder. You will
need to add the absolute path here. - Re-Upload the index.php
- For testing, visit some pages of your website.
- Point your browser to http://www.mysite.com/bbclone and you will see the bbclone stats page.
It should report the pages you have visited a few moments ago.
Maybe it is a good idea to secure your bbclone folder with a .htaccess file. Otherwise everybody who knows or guess the bbclone url, can see your site statistics.
